David Dembele

David Dembélé is an investigative journalist based in Mali. He entered journalism by pure passion in 2006, he works for the newspaper “depêches du Mali”, “Les Echos”, and is correspondent in Bamako of the newspaper “Le Monde”. He has specialized in the field of investigation and has worked with several organizations including the Thomson Reuters Foundation, ANCIR, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), OCCRP, African Investigative Publishing Collective (AIPC) and ZAM…
He took part in specific journalism courses at the “Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme” in Lille (France). With the ICIJ, he worked on dossiers that concerned Mali in major projects such as: Panama Papers, Swissleaks and Fatal Extraction Project, West africa Leaks…
In Mali, in 2016, he created the Malian Network of Journalists of Investigation (RMJI), the first national organization of journalists who is interested in ” investigation.
